Not sure what it means to "clean" your computer?
Worried about erasing important files that may wreck your computer.
Follow the steps below and learn how to keep your computer tidy.
You might be suprised to know that every thing you click on or look at on the
internet is stored on your computer. If you knew what you were looking for, you
could see EVERYTHING you have ever done even if you deleted it!
Simply pressing delete or throwing it away in the Trash Bin does not completely
eliminate it. The file will stay on your computer for ever.

Follow these steps to clean your Temporary Internet Files and your Cookies.
For Windows XP users
- Click the Start button on your desktop
- Click on My Computer
- Double click on Local Disk (C:)
- Double click on Documents and Settings
- There should be at least 3 yellow file folders showing. One called Administrator, one called All Users and then one named for your own settings. Double click on your own computer setting file
- At the top of your Desktop there are the drop down menus. File, Edit, view, etc.. Click on Tools
- Click on Folder Options
- In Folder Options click on the View tab
- Find the spot that says"Show Hidden Files and Folders" Choose that option and click Apply and OK
you should only have to do steps 6 through 9 once
- You should now see the Local Settings Folder. Double click on that
- Double click on Temporary Internet Files
- Click on Edit from your drop down menu and choose Select All. Now press Delete on your keyboard. When prompted if say "Yes" to delete all temporary internet files.
- Click Back on the browser
- Double click on the yellow Cookies folder. Click on Edit, choose Select All and press the Delete key on your keyboard
- The computer will prompt you again, however it will also tell you that there is one file that it cannot erase. This is okay. Just press OK.
- Now give yourself a BIG pat on the back. You have cleaned both the temporary internet files and the cookies off your computer all by yourself. Congratulations!
